Bad Eyesight Reason for Accidents

Bad eyesight can cause accidents, a warning issued by Huddersfield Car Insurance customers. Motorists with weak eyesight are prone to accidents compared with those having clear vision. West Yorkshire Police have requested motorists to visit an optometrist for an eye test to find out if they need glasses or their prescription needs adjustment.

Individuals who fail to take the test and get involved in frequent accidents can face serious consequences. This suggestion was made after a two-day initiative carried out by the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Agency and the police forces in the Almondbury and Newsome areas to see if the eye health of motorists were fine. The test was simply to check if the drivers could read the registration number when stopped at a certain distance. Sergeant Rachael Bairstow who was involved in the initiative said that all 89 drivers passed the test.
