Taxi Owners Worried About Increase in Annual Licensing Fee

Taxi owners of Worcester could find themselves easily out of their job after the city council announced an increase of annual taxi licensing fee. This Taxi Insurance will force cabbies to pay an additional 35% which will mean an annual rise in fees from £250 to £340.
However, most taxi drivers have said that they would be unable to bear the cost as times are difficult and recession has its own negative effects. The Taxi Drivers Association’s Kershi Baig told the Berrows Journal that takings are already low by 40 per cent. It can even lead to unemployment.
