Swinton Car Insurance reveals that a number of British drivers have made several claims on their vehicles even when it was not required. Their research reveals that about 36% drivers have very little knowledge of their vehicle, 20% of the motorists are unsure of how to check tyre pressure, and 29% do not know how to change their tyres.
To their surprise 9% even admitted not knowing how to open their bonnet. Insurance development manager at Swinton Car Insurance, Steve Chelton, said that all motorists should have at least basic knowledge of their vehicles and should not depend upon others for topping oil or filling up tyres. He also says that knowledge of one’s own vehicle would help not to make insurance claims which in turn can lead to an increase of car insurance premiums.
