A Note of Caution for Motorists in Winter

With the onset of winter and temperatures dipping below zero in most parts of the UK, a warning has been issued to motorists about potential damages of frosting or having their cars stolen while digging ice in the morning.

The latest research by the car insurance division states that almost 15,000 motorists could be victims of frosting with many motorists leaving the engines of their cars running while away at work. Sainsbury’s Car Insurance states that latest security system on cars may make car thieves little more sceptical before going for the crime.

However, Sainsbury’s Car Insurance manager, Joanne Mallon adds a note of caution. According to her, with the prevalent extreme cold conditions, you might have to defrost the car more than usual, offering more opportunity for the car thief to steal your car. Drivers also need to take extra precautionary measures during the winters for the ice on the streets.
