If you are planning a holiday in the UK this summer, then you must ensure that you have the best insurance deals especially if you wish to stay in a caravan. Saga, specialist insurance cover for people over 50 reminded customers that motor homes are not covered by standard car or home insurance policies. You can take cover for caravans attached at the back of the cover under third party insurance protection but damage and theft are not covered. Andrew Goodsell of the Saga Group said that dedicated to the Caravan Insurance is equally important as car breakdown cover, especially as the holiday vehicles often contain expensive items.
Caravan owners should understand the insurance policies and be aware of its details. It is advisable to opt for separate caravan insurance so that holidaymakers are prepared for the worst and not left in the lurch.
Saga has given this advice following a study undertaken by the firm which reveals that two-thirds of the over-50s intend to take a caravanning holiday in the UK this summer.
