Saga provides four kinds of plans and the offers are for the people above 50. Saga health insurance caters to this group and have insurance plans especially tailored for them. Health insurance by Saga is underwritten by AXA PPP health care. The variations of Saga plans and other insurance companies are in alignment with each other. If one is getting quotes it is better to compare both the offers, pricing and benefits offered by the companies.
There are basically four Saga Health Insurance plans in addition to the key treatment plans. These are health plan super, health plan secure, health plan saver and health plan support. Less expensive covers have a few limitations compared to the expensive ones. The first plan offered by Saga health insurance is
Health Plan Super - It is a plan with unlimited claims each year and a few limits on the benefits. Usual in-patient fees, hospital fees, out-patient fees and consulting fees are covered in this plan. Home nursing as well as complementary therapies are also accessible if one avails this plan. Post-operative recovery and dental injuries are also included in this plan which is generally not covered by other insurance companies. There is no upper age limit to this plan.
Health Plans Saver - Most of the things inclusive in Health Plan Super are also inclusive in Health Plan Saver. Dental cover, psychiatric treatments and post recovery care are excluded in this plan. Limits on some benefits are lower.
Health Plan Secure - This is the most popular plan offered by Saga Insurance. It excludes private ambulance and complementary therapies. The rest features are just like health plan super.
Health Plan Support - This cover is especially for hospital treatments. All sorts of outpatient treatments are excluded.
Saga Targeted Health Care - Joint replacement plan, key treatment plan for cataracts, hernias etc and key treatments with heart cover are offered for over 50s.
