Saga breakdown assistance offers breakdown cover for drivers in the age of 50 and above at competitive rates. There is a call out time of around 40 minutes. Saga Breakdown Cover aims to fix around eight out of ten repairable breakdowns at the roadside. The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There are five cover levels to choose from
Essential - This covers roadside repair or recovery to the nearest garage.
Home Call - Repair at home or roadside, or recovery to the nearest garage is covered in home call.
National Recovery - Roadside repair, recovery to one’s home or garage anywhere in UK is covered.
Comprehensive - Here apart from national recovery, overnight accommodation and car hire are also taken care of.
Premier - In Premier all the above are included. EU cover for roadside repair and full recovery are also added. If fixing the car is not possible then holiday departure cover helps one to be back to one’s departure point.There are some features which are common in all five levels while there are a few extra features comprehensive and premier level. Roadside repair, puncture repair and recovery are common in all the levels. Recovery includes recovery of car, insured person and up to five passengers to any destination within ten miles of the breakdown. Rest of the features of Saga Insurance include national recovery, home call, driver care, European cover and holiday departure cover. Home call means there will be assistance at one’s home or within ¼ of a mile of one’s home. Driver care means one can receive a hire car or overnight accommodation if one’s car is not in a position of any use. There is a special feature for cars as old as 16 years which are covered in European cover. European cover is exclusively for Premier Level. Holiday departure cover ensures that one gets covered up to departure point even for older cars. This is covered in Premier Level.
