Saga Boat insurance offers comprehensive or third party only insurance. It provides these at high levels. The insurance is provided for a wide variety of vessels like Dinghy, Sailboard, Inland cruising, Small boat, Motor boat, yacht, narrow boat and third party only insurance. Broadly Saga Boat Insurance can be divided into third party only insurance and comprehensive insurance. Comprehensive Saga Boat Insurance cover provides one with no claim discount of up to 20% in cases where there is no claims have been paid or there is no outstanding amount. Racing risk is covered in comprehensive while it’s not available in ‘third party only’ policy. Third party liability cover of up to 3 million pounds is available if there is damage to the property or someone injures the craft. This is applicable for both the types of policies. Personal accident cover for specified injuries such as permanent total disablement is taken care of in comprehensive policy. The amount which can be claimed is around 10,000 pounds. Marine legal expenses to recover uninsured losses such as excess are optional. The amount is only 12.99 pounds for both the types of policies. Saga Insurance Comprehensive cover comes with better features like accidental loss or damage to one’s craft’s hull, machinery, gear and equipment is covered. Cover for personal effects are available for items used only in connection with craft, a laptop used for navigation in comprehensive plan. In ‘third party only’ scheme, 10% discount on craft is available up to 23 ft. and is capable of over 17 knots. This is the case if one has level 2 or higher practical RYA Powerboat qualification. Wide cruising ranges are also available including UK inland and coastal waters. Apart from that, continental waters from Elbe to La Rochelle and Eire are available for craft over 23 ft. No claim discount protection is applicable in comprehensive plan but not in ‘third party only’ plan.
