They are among the worst car insurers today and indeed have tried to claim that some of the damage to my car was not a result of the accident at all. Their process of making claims is slow and they repeatedly ask for more information such as assessment of the damage, photos, reports experts etc.

Customer services is fine. Its cheap and goes fine. You get the service what you actually pay for but when it comes to claims the services are not up to mark. My policy was due for renewal in January and I got a letter in December asking whether I wanted to renew the policy. I decided not to and handed over to them the required certificates. The still charged my account a sum of $700 and still continue the policy. I have asked a refund from them and they have agreed to. But still its all a wait and watch game. Its good that I had a look at my bank statement this time, which I generally don’t. I won’t continue with their services, nor will let anyone in my circle do so. It was indeed disappointing when such vague charges are levied upon you.

While we were on the holidays our car got stolen and our house caught fire. We submitted the claim to the Elephant Insurance company and got a good response initially and the name of the contact person to whom I was supposed to contact. I tried to contact that person several times but couldn’t get in touch with him. The customer care number too didn’t respond well. Finally an executive from their side approached me and suspected that the car crash was done on Saturday night so I might have been drunk that time and crashed the car. I informed them humbly that it happened on Tuesday while I was in canada. Nothing worked out still. I am still hoping a response from their side with both of my fingers crossed.
