Check Car Insurance Details before driving abroad
The Brits are expected to go on a holiday abroad in the approaching bank holidays. uSwitch has therefore advised all motorists to check their Motor Insurance before they use their vehicles abroad. In most cases one out of five motorists are under the impression that policies which can be applied at home is also applicable abroad. Almost 22 percent of the respondents think that the amount of cover they get abroad is almost the same as in the UK, though they admit that they haven’t checked the clause thoroughly. The research of uSwitch has also revealed that most insurers have increased the number of days motorists are insured abroad for free, but some insurers only allow their clients three days cover while abroad as part of their standard policies. uSwitch insurance expert Mark Monteiro advises that the best way to avoid insurance mishaps is giving oneself enough time to meet the insurer before venturing out on a trip. |
