Optional Extras
Legal protection
Legal costs up to £50,000 to pursue a case are covered. This helps the policyholder in case of accidents - where you need to get back medical expenses for injury, damage to car or plain try to get the excess back. There is also £5,000 covered to defend against motoring prosecution, this does not include drinking and drug related cases. This protection is available for £1.50 per month.
Hire car
Hire car is made available up to 14 days in case your car is written off in an accident or stolen or is in the garage for repair. This cover is available for £2.50 per month. There are age restrictions to this policy and hire car policy booklet gives the full details.
Asda Breakdown service
This includes recover, roadside assistance, home start, onward travel, European cover and emergency overnight accommodation. The cost is around £6.30 per month.
Claims
Claims process is fast, easy and simple. The policyholder needs to notify the insurance company of the details of loss, repairs needed. Then
ASDA Insurance will arrange for repairs at the garage directly.
Payments
Payments can be made through the secure website by credit or debit cards or direct debit. There is an APR of 23.5% for monthly installments.
Protection of no claims discount
ASDA will protect the no claims discount for an additional charge, the details of the premium and procedure is available in the policy schedule.
Cancellations
Policies can be cancelled within 14 days of receipt of policy document. If the policy has not commenced then
ASDA will fully refund the policy, in case policy has already commenced then administration charge of £20 is to be provided by the policyholder. Refund is not available for Hire Car, Breakdown service and Motor legal protection.
