Strict Measures for Motorists without Insurance

Motorists driving without a valid insurance must be ready for more stringent punishment by the AA. The AA has stated that it plans to take strict action against those driving without Car Insurance. The Head of public affairs of the AA, Paul Watters said that he was happy by the way the association has been cracking down offenders by issuing warning letters and tracking repeated offenders. However, he is concerned about "bureaucratic, database-type issues" occurring due to the collaboration between the DVLA and Department for Transport. He feels that some individuals are not too bothered about their letter or even at times forget to collect it and goes a holiday and they think paying £100 is a cheaper alternative than having their car insured. The AA will first issue a warning notice, and then impose a fine of £100 on individuals driving without insurance and if they still pay no heed to the warnings their cars can now be seized.
